Be Inspired Have Fun Learn New Skills
SCULPTURE FOUNDATIONS COURSE
This course of weekly classes is designed to enable you to be inspired, have fun and learn new skills. All experience levels are welcome.
During the 10-week course you will have the opportunity to create a work of your choosing suited to your experience.
Figurative or abstract, from sketch to sculpture, you will be encouraged to explore a variety of materials and techniques – armature making, modelling, moulding and casting your work in readily accessible traditional sculpture materials.
You will be able to enjoy working within a small group at your own pace and start to develop your own artistic style with expert guidance.

STUDIO GROUP
For continuing sculptors who have completed the Foundations Course as a minimum and wish to develop their sculpture skills and experiment with alternative modelling, moulding and casting materials and techniques.
This small group of sculpture enthusiasts is supported with expert guidance from Caro and input from other Butley Mills Studios artists. The 10-week terms are on Thursday mornings throughout the year. Please contact Caro for further details and availability.
PORTRAIT SCULPTURE SUMMER SCHOOL
A fascinating 5-day course for all levels of artistic ability, where you will learn to create a 3-D portrait head that exudes character and believability.
A life model will be provided for you to work from while you develop your life-size portrait in clay. You will be taught to make a simple mould, then cast your work in a permanent material. With your newly acquired skills you will be able to explore further at home with a subject of your choice.
During the week we will also visit the Sculpture Exhibition at the renowned Helmingham Hall Gardens.

WIRE SCULPTURE WORKSHOP
'Birds in Wire'
A 2-day sculpture course for all levels of ability where you will have fun, learn new skills and play with creative possibilities. An ideal introduction to 3-D work using easily accessible tools and materials.
Over the 2 days you will learn how to design and construct a wire bird of your choosing suitable for display in your home or garden. Learn the fundamentals of bird form, achieve a realistic pose and build your sculpture using a variety of wires.

YOUR COURSE TUTOR
A lifelong artist with a strong background in printmaking and drawing, Caro Burberry M.R.S.S. is a leading UK sculptor trained at The Frink School. Her sculptures, cast in bronze and iron, are commissioned and exhibited in permanent settings worldwide.
Recent commissions include Roots and Wings for Sculpture Trails Outdoor Museum, Indiana, USA and Adam and Eve for the University of Winchester, UK.
Caro regularly creates and pours her iron sculptures with her ‘cast iron family’, a network of expert foundry crew and artists from the USA and UK who assemble annually to create cast iron art.
Caro has led specialist creative workshops for over 25 years and worked as a guest lecturer at De Montfort University in Leicester.
